A field manual for FrontWars
Sources and dates
Everything this site asserts comes from one of these five places, on these dates. If a sentence cannot be traced to one of them, it should not be on the site.
- TESTEDthe client itself, opened in two browsers, 2026-11-03
- IN-GAMEthe Instructions, Build menu, Rules and score screens, quoted verbatim
- OFFICIAL ONLYthe portal listing and the Steam page, repeated with their own wording
- NEEDS CHECKanything we could not reach: replays, public matches, Fast economy

The client
Version v42.5, dated 30 October 2026 in the client's own What's new panel,
served from frontwars.io through the CrazyGames page. Read in two headless Chrome
sessions on 2026-11-03, at 1422×804, signed out throughout. Screenshots of every
reading are kept in research/session-2026-11-03/shots/ in the project
directory, dated by filename order.
The client's bundle
The JavaScript the browser downloaded, 1.32 MB of game code plus thirty chunks. Used for one purpose only: to establish that replay code exists, which the UI could not show us. Code is evidence of capability, not of reachability, and every claim from it says so.
The portal listing
The CrazyGames page for the game, read on 2026-11-03: rating 9.7 from the last six months, 313K likes and 12K dislikes, released September 2025, last updated October 2026, engine printed as externally hosted (iframe), platform list naming browser, App Store and Steam.
The store page
The Steam listing, read on 2026-11-03 in English: Early Access, Mostly Positive (147), 4002270, developer line reading Phoenix and VexxusArts, publisher XTARZAN MEDIA SL. The release day prints as 5 October in our timezone and 4 October in another, which is why this site writes dates, not just days.
What we do not cite
Other guides. Not out of principle — other FrontWars sites exist and one of them is bigger than this one — but because their numbers carry no date and no method, and repeating them would launder that. Where we disagree with one, we say what we measured.
Corrections
If a number here disagrees with what you see in the client, the client wins. Send the page, the date and the version from the What's new panel, and it will be checked and dated. The stamp at the foot of every page is the date the page was last compared against the client, not the date it was written.
